Diary Entry August 9, 2025

Dear Diary,

Last day in the wild. Tomorrow it’s back to walls, Wi-Fi, and not having to chase raccoons away from my soap stash.

I decided my final day needed to be legendary. Mission accomplished.

🎉 Hosted a “Farewell Camp Party” for the woodland creatures. Guests included Steve the squirrel, two chipmunks, and something large and mysterious that knocked over the cooler.

🧼 Made “bushcraft beard balm” using shea butter, pine sap, and pure chaos. Might be the next big seller. Might be a lawsuit. Time will tell.

🔥 Built the perfect campfire… then accidentally added mica powder. Instant rainbow flames. Zero regrets.

🪵 Tried to carve a soap mold out of a log. Now it’s just… a log with holes in it.

🍌 Left a banana on the picnic table as an offering to the raccoons. I think it worked. No one tried to unzip my tent last night.

As the sun set, I took one last creek bath with my travel soap and watched the bubbles drift away downstream. The fish here are going to smell amazing for weeks.

Goodbye, wilderness. You were weird, wild, and occasionally sticky. Just like me.

Smoky, sparkly, and ready for home,
Melinda 🐒💜
